This setup for the Atlantic seems a bit concerning for the U.S. in the long range. I'm not convinced the Atlantic ridge will break down as soon as some ensembles suggest. A stronger ridge of course would keep a potential system on a more threatening course for land areas. Google Deepmind kind of hints at this but a long way to go as you mention. Will add the MJO isn't all that supportive in the western MDR per NCICS tropical monitoring with 200-hPa velocity potential (just a caveat). I'm curious to hear any other thoughts on this from those who know a lot more about it than myself.
